Definitions of health:

Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.

1 A healthy state of well being free from disease; "physicians should be held responsible for the health of their patients"
2 The general condition of body and mind; "his delicate health"; "in poor health"
3 Care, services or supplies related to the health of an individual. Health care includes but is not limited to:
4 The organized efforts on the part of society to reduce disease and premature death, and the disability and discomfort produced by disease

and other factors, such as injury or environmental hazards.
5 It defines disease as the result of climatic extremes, bacterial attack, nutritional deviance, and stress, as well as other forms of emotional

imbalance. Optimal health is achieved by cultivating mental and physical habits that are conductive to physical and spiritual well-being, and treatment often includes hatha yoga, diet, and the development of positive attitude.

Wellness is an active process of becoming aware of and making choices toward a more successful existence.
The key words in this first sentence are process, aware, choices and success. Process means that we never arrive at a point were there is no possibility of improving.
Aware means that we are by our nature continuously seeking more information about how we can improve.
Choices means that we have considered a variety of options and select those that seem to be in our best interest.
Success is determined by each individual to be their personal collection of accomplishments for their life.
Health is elusive to define and ways of thinking about it have evolved over the years. Three leading approaches include the "medical model", the "holistic model", and the "wellness model":
